Exceptional coffee from Kerinci mountain

The Koerintji Barokah Bersama cooperative has 320 members who grow coffee at the foot of Mount Kerinci on the island of Sumatra, one of the active volcanoes in the Pacific. Due to the history of eruptions, the volcanic soil is fertile, rich in nutrients and creates a green, diverse landscape.

The cooperative's activities are overseen by the company Triyono, which guides members in processing and roasting their own coffee. The cooperative not only has a so-called dry mill, which is used for the mechanical removal of the skin, but also a fully equipped roasting room and a laboratory for assessing coffee quality. Although it was only established in 2017, it has built a name for its quality and consistent coffee production over the years.

Sustainability and cooperation with local farmers

Green practices and sustainability is one of their main goals, using neutral carbon dioxide to reduce waste and 100% recyclable PET bottles. They work closely with local farmers to improve their living conditions, who can then better invest in their farms and grow quality coffee beans.
